U.S. Army Soldiers under Task Force Iron take positions with German HK G36 rifles during the Schützenschnur qualification at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, Romania, Aug. 29, 2025. The Schützenschnur is a German Armed Forces marksmanship badge earned through weapons qualification conducted with German service members. The competition provided U.S. Soldiers with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of foreign weapons systems, strengthened camaraderie with their German counterparts, and fostered esprit de corps across both units..
