SAN DIEGO (Sept. 2, 2025) - U.S. Navy Master Chief Intelligence Specialist Jeffrey Hames, assigned to Naval Special Warfare Mission Support Center, receives his master chief collar device during a master chief pinning ceremony at Breakers Beach, San Diego, Calif., Sept. 2, 2025. Hames was pinned alongside his wife, Heather Hames, who was also promoted to Master Chief Intelligence Specialist. Naval special warfare’s (NSW) mission is to recruit, organize, train, man, equip, educate, sustain, secure, maintain combat readiness, and deploy Active Component and Reserve Component NSW forces and personnel to accomplish special warfare missions assigned by Commander, United States Special Operations Command or, as authorized, combatant commanders employing special operations forces.
