Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, U.S. Space Command command senior enlisted leader, presents a letter to the future members of USSPACECOM for the time capsule during the 6th birthday celebration at USSPACECOM’s Bayfield Facility, Colorado Springs, Colorado, August 28, 2025. Each directorate within USSPACECOM contributed an item to the time capsule, which will be opened August 29, 2044, that represents their individual mission within the command. USSPACECOM, working with Allies and Partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats.
