U.S. Army Spc. Elijah Hendrick, 1st Armored Division, Task Force Iron, fires a HK P8 German Army service pistol during the Schützenschnur qualification at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, Romania, Aug. 29, 2025. The Schützenschnur is a German Armed Forces marksmanship badge earned through weapons qualification conducted with German service members. The competition provided U.S. Soldiers with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of foreign weapons systems, strengthened camaraderie with their German counterparts, and fostered esprit de corps across both units.
