Airmen from the 89th Airlift Wing listen to presentations during the first commander’s call of the new command team at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, Aug. 22, 2025. During the event, the 89th AW commander, deputy commander and command chief introduced themselves, recognized outstanding performers and outlined strategic priorities for the Special Air Mission moving forward. The 89th AW executes and provides unmatched global airlift, logistics, aerial port and communications support, enabling the President, Vice President, cabinet officials, combatant commanders and other senior leaders to project U.S. diplomacy and power worldwide as directed by the White House, the Air Force Chief of Staff and Air Mobility Command.
