Ryan Byars, a medic with 2nd Brigade, 11th Airborne Division, carries a simulated casualty across the battlefield August 19, 2025 before testing his markmanship during the stress shoot portion of the 11th Airborne Division Best Medic Competition at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Byars and competition partner Sgt. Nathan Kelley, earned the highest score and will represent the 11th Airborne Division in the Army Best Medic Competition slated for February 2026.
