Air Commandos assigned to the 27th Special Operations Wing load a Marine Corps M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) vehicle into an MC-130 Commando II during ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25), at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug 11, 2025. The use of HIMARS demonstrates the Marines’ ability to deliver precise, long-range fires in austere Arctic conditions. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
