Members of U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit 311 support a raise, tow, and beach (RTB) operation during exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) at Anchorage, Alaska, Aug. 11, 2025. RTB is a tactical recovery process used to safely recover and exploit underwater objects—typically mines, unmanned underwater vehicles, or other foreign maritime material. AE25 is a North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
