U.S. Army Soldiers participate in a dismounted patrol of the Lincoln Memorial area, Washington, D.C., Aug. 18, 2025. The purpose of this patrol is to provide pedestrians with peace of mind and a sense of personal security. Approximately 800 National Guard service members comprise JTF-DC, supporting the D.C. safe and Beautiful Task Force. These National Guard service members provide critical support, including crowd management, presence patrols, and perimeter control, in support of law enforcement. D.C.
