A child drinks water from a well built by Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 40 in Shant Abak. The well, which can pump about 25 gallons of water per minute, is one of two being built in the village and is part of several humanitarian projects by Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. The task force is comprised of service members representing all the U.S. military services and conducts unified action in the Combined Joint Operations Area-Horn of Africa to prevent conflict, promote regional stability and protect coalition partners.
