Capt. Brian Quin, former commanding officer of Pre-Commissioning Unit Anchorage, left, congratulates Cmdr. Joel Stewart, commanding officer for USS Anchorage (LPD 23) at the conclusion of a snow-covered commissioning ceremony for the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock at the Port of Anchorage. Quin served as Anchorage's first commanding officer and was relieved by Stewart two weeks ahead of the commissioning due to health concerns.
