U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jake Bailey, a rifleman with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, sets security with an M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle during a forward observation post exercise as a part of Talisman Sabre 25 in Queensland, Australia, July 24, 2025. Marines conducted forward reconnaissance in remote terrain in order to sustain and improve their abilities in covert missions. Talisman Sabre is the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific by strengthening relationships and interoperability among key allies and partners, while enhancing our collective capabilities to respond to a wide array of potential security concerns.
