A U.S. Army Soldier, assigned to U.S. Army Pacific, maneuvers through an obstacle course during the final phase of the Jungle Operations Training Course (JOTC), known as the Green Mile, at Fort Magsaysay, Philippines, May 1, 2025, during exercise Balikatan 25. The culminating event tested Soldiers’ endurance and mastery of jungle survival, mobility, and combat skills acquired throughout the course, reinforcing small-unit cohesion and joint operational readiness in austere environments.
Balikatan is a longstanding annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen our ironclad alliance, improve our capable combined force, and demonstrate our commitment to regional security and stability.
