North Carolina Wing (NCWG) of Civil Air Patrol Col. Dennis Bissell, the commander of NCWG CAP, welcomes the cadets and students attending the organization’s annual encampment at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, July 12, 2025. The 2025 NCWG CAP Encampment was an eight-day event, July 12-19, where approximately 300 cadets, ages 12-21, participated in hands-on training focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), as well as leadership development. CAP, the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, supports emergency and disaster response operations, provides aerospace education, and promotes youth development through its cadet programs.
