ANNAPOLIS, Md. (July , 2025) U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen 1st and 2nd Class Detailers conduct a turnover ceremony in King Hall relieving detailers from the first half of Plebe Summer, a demanding indoctrination period intended to transition candidates from civilian to military life. Plebe Summer is also a demanding period for upper class Midshipmen, as they are responsible for teaching, mentoring, and guiding the incoming class in order to prepare them for assimilation into the Brigade of Midshipmen. As the undergraduate college of our country’s naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
