U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Giovanni Aguilar Appell, a light armored vehicle commander with 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division currently forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program, leads an LAR basic gunnery class during Korean Marine Exercise Program 25.2 on Camp Mujuk, South Korea, July 21, 2025. KMEP is a semi-annual exercise that provides iterative opportunities for Republic of Korea Marine Corps and U.S. Marine Corps units to train together, improving their combined capabilities to deter threats and maintain peace on the Korean Peninsula.
