Marine Corps Logistics Command (LOGCOM) proudly joined community leaders, service members, and civic partners for the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee Rise N’ Shine Breakfast, July 24.
This annual event honors service, strengthens partnerships, and highlights the vital impact of Marine Corps Logistics Command, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, and military units across the region.
Maj. Gen. Keith D. Reventlow, commanding general, LOGCOM, participated in the State of the Base Panel, sharing how the Marine Corps is modernizing its logistics enterprise. He spoke on digitizing depot operations, advancing data-driven decision-making, and strengthening global sustainment capabilities.
Maj. Gen. Reventlow also reflected on what it means to call Albany home, praising the region’s workforce and community connection saying:
“We are not separate from this community—we are a part of it. The best talent we can recruit is homegrown, and as we modernize, we need the skills, spirit, and support found right here in Albany.”
Four Marines from LOGCOM were honored for their excellence in service and commitment to the community:
Sgt. Nathalia K. Martinez, supply administration chief, 2d Force Storage Battalion: Martinez oversees all logistical operations at the Weapons Warehouse and ensures mission readiness through precise documentation. Off duty, she volunteers at the Chehaw Zoo, animal rescue organizations, and local school events.
Pfc. Irvin Z. Mott, administrative clerk, G-1, LOGCOM: Mott supports personnel administration and serves in multiple additional roles, including unit mail clerk and Single Marine Program representative. He has completed more than 25 professional courses and volunteers regularly at local events.
Sgt. Elijah D. Smith, mobile facility liaison, Marine Depot Maintenance Command: Smith manages the configuration and movement of mobile facilities across U.S. and allied forces. He played a key role in the transfer of $10 million in assets and has logged more than 50 volunteer hours supporting local charity efforts.
Sgt. Mirthaly S. Quintanilla, contract specialist, LOGCOM: Quintanilla has awarded more than $537,000 in contracts supporting Marine Corps readiness. She also teaches Corporals Course, volunteers with her Church, and advocates for quality of life through the Single Marine Program.
Together with our community, we’re building a stronger, more resilient force, ready to serve, sustain, and support.
