The Love, Carissa Corporation was founded in honor of Carissa, who tragically drowned in 2015 at age nine. Her grandmother, Shannon Shaw, shows Carissa’s handwriting, which is printed on each loaner lifejacket her non-profit provides at loaner boards located at Perry Lake’s boat ramps at Perry Lake in Perry, Kansas, on July 14, 2025.
