JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA-BOLLING, Washington, D.C. - Director of Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Vice Adm. Johnny R. Wolfe, Jr., attended SSP's command picnic at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington D.C., on July 10, 2025. Several events were featured at this year’s picnic including a car show, a dunk tank, a command-wide barbecue, and yard games. The picnic was organized by SSP’s Activity and Recreations Committee, an all-volunteer team made up of military and civilians who fundraise and plan Morale, Welfare, and Recreation events throughout the year.
“Our workforce is in charge of some of the most unique and sensitive work in support of national defense,” Wolfe said. “Taking some time to bond as a team and as a greater SSP family is critical to our mission success. It’s always nice when we can take a step away from the office to celebrate our workforce – the people who are leading the way in developing and sustaining the Navy’s strategic deterrence capabilities.”
