A Royal Australian Air Force F-35A Lightning II aircraft takes off in support of Talisman Sabre 25 in the Northern Territory, Australia, July 16, 2025. The aircraft was piloted by U.S. Air Force Maj. Colby “Burn” Kluesner, an F-35A Lightning II evaluator pilot with the 388th Fighter Wing, as part of an international interfly between the Royal Australian Air Force, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, and Royal Air Force. Talisman Sabre is the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States, that advances a safe and secure Indo-Pacific by strengthening relationships and interoperability among key Allies and partners, while enhancing collective capabilities to respond to a wide array of potential security concerns.
