U.S. Space Force Staff Sgt. Zachary Allen and Royal Australian Navy Leading Seaman Afton Mitchell, both assigned to the 53rd Space Operations Squadron Det. 4, conduct operations inside the Wideband Satellite Operations Center during Resolute Space 2025, near Wahiawa, Hawai’i, July 16, 2025. Nested under the 2025 Department of the Air Force exercise series, Resolute Space 2025 demonstrates the Space Force’s preparedness for complex, large-scale military operations by exercising our ability to operate in a contested, dynamic environment against high-end threats on short notice across the service and with joint and international partners. The 53 SOPS, which is organized under Space Operations Command’s Delta 8, provides mission assurance and continuous operational support through real-time correlated monitoring, control, and management of MILSATCOM through multiple WSOC locations around the world. Det. 4 represents the deep integration of U.S. and Australian forces, with embedded personnel from across the Australian Defence Force providing continuous operational support enabling exercises like Resolute Space 2025.
