A U.S. Marine with Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 25.3, fires an M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle during Archipelagic Coastal Defense 25.3 at Oyster Bay, Palawan, Philippines, July 3, 2025. ACD is a series of bilateral exchanges and training opportunities between U.S. and Philippine Marines aimed at bolstering the Philippine Marine Corps’ Archipelagic Costal Defense Concept while supporting the modernization efforts of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific.
