Thomas Digan gives remarks during the Virginia-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Arizona’s (SSN 803) change of command ceremony aboard the historic ship USS Nautilus at the Submarine Force Museum in Groton, Conn., July 11, 2025. During the ceremony, Cmdr. Christian Olsen relieved Digan as Arizona’s commanding officer. Arizona’s crew operates under Submarine Squadron (SUBRON) 12 whose primary mission is to provide fast-attack submarines that are ready, willing, and able to meet the unique challenges of undersea combat and deployed operations in unforgiving environments across the globe.
