Team members from Dover Area High School make adjustments on their human-powered submarine, Sharky, on June 23, 2025, during the International Submarine Races (ISR 18) at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division in West Bethesda, Maryland. The ISR serve as a real-world crucible for aspiring naval engineers providing hands-on problem-solving opportunities in a unique competition that develops critical domestic, scientific, and engineering talent for the Navy and America’s Maritime Industrial Base.
