U.S. Airmen assigned to the 165th Civil Engineer Squadron, Georgia Air National Guard, and the 567th Red Horse Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, along with local contractors begin day four of construction at Puʻuhonua o Waiʻanae, an affordable housing site, during Innovation Readiness Training in Waiʻanae, Hawaii, July 3, 2025. This Department of Defense led program enhances military readiness by providing hands-on, real-world training such as construction and engineering while supporting underserved U.S. communities. This mission allows Airmen to sharpen essential construction and engineering skills while directly supporting efforts to build sustainable housing for a local population in Hawaii.
