Members of the West Virginia Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Enhanced Response Force Package move a "victim" along a conveyor belt at a decontamination site during an April 4 exercise. Each victim was medically categorized according severity of injuries, thoroughly washed down, and checked for radioactive residue before being taken to medical tents for "treatment." The exercise, "Vital Guardian," brought together Army and Air National Guardsmen from five states and the District of Columbia in response to a mock catastrophic event. Photo by Samantha L. Quigley
