Navy Petty Officer 3rd class Dana M. Allen's large, professionally done multicolored tattoos may take a dozen or more laser treatments to remove. The advantage of lasers over previous removal methods is it leaves little or no scarring. Allen is a patient at the Cutaneous Laser Center, which opened in July 2000 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Photo by Rudi Williams.
