A soldier assigned to 4th Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment “Gimlets,” 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, attached to the 4th Infantry Division’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team, watches residents of Sadr City pass through an Iraqi army checkpoint April 2, 2008. This checkpoint was consistently mortared by terrorists when fighting broke out in Sadr City. The Gimlets provide a constant presence in the area to ensure the safety of the Iraqi people.
