The Beida neighborhood leader cuts a ribbon Aug. 26, 2008, to celebrate the grand reopening of the Asafah pool complex in the Beida neighborhood of northern Baghdad. The complex, which was once a bastion for insurgents, was given a $200,000 facelift and is now enjoying an eight-fold increase in patronage compared to the same time frame in 2007.
