Abdul Rahim Wardak, Afghan Minister of Defense, presents Afghan 2nd Lt. Homira Safian, an Afghan National Army Female Officer Candidate School instructor, with a U.S. Army Achievement Medal during an award ceremony, Sept. 22, 2010. Safian received the medal for instructing 29 Afghan female officer candidates during 20 weeks of training, which included 8 weeks of basic training and 12 weeks of advanced training.
