Art student Ayisha Siddiq leads students, New York Police Department officers and Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Bryan B. Battaglia, the senior enlisted advisor to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, on a tour of the 270-foot mural painted on the second and third floors of William McKinley Intermediate School 259 in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 21, 2013. The artwork features original poetry, art, and glass from the World Trade Center in honor of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and all first responders, victims and family members of the attacks on 9/11. The students teamed up with military members, and leaders from the New York Fire Department and the New York Police Department to unveil the mural at the Armed Forces Wounded Warrior Mural dedication ceremony.
