GREAT LAKES, Illinois (June 27, 2025) Sailors assigned to Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL) and tenant commands graduate from the auxiliary security forces (ASF) academy held aboard NSGL. The ASF academy is a three week course that trains active duty service members to augment base security personnel during various contingencies, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, civil disturbances, exercises, and special events requiring heightened security.
