U.S. Marines assigned to the 2d Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and Servicio Nacional Aeronaval of Panama members learn how to make utensils from bamboo from a Servicio Nacional Aeronaval of Panama Commando during jungle training in Panama, June 20, 2025. During their time in the jungle, the Marines and Aeronaval members learned to live off the land with minimal resources, learning to build shelter, make traps, fish, make dishware from bamboo, and more. U.S. Southern Command is focused on increasing partner nation capacity and interoperability in the region and reflects the United States’ enduring promise of friendship, partnership, and solidarity with the Panamanian people.
