Navy Capt. Kenneth Basford, commanding officer of Expeditionary Medical Facility 150 Alpha, meets with Col. Vladimir Flores, commanding officer of Hospital Militar in San Pedro Sula Cortes, Honduras, on April 22, 2025, during the EMF's global health engagement to the Central American nation. The commanding officers exchanged unit patches following a leadership meeting. The deployment of EMF Alpha allows for significant bilateral medical engagements between U.S. Navy expeditionary medicine teams and their Honduran counterparts, which strengthens our collective ability to face common challenges and improve medical readiness. For 250 years, Navy Medicine – represented by more than 44,000 highly-trained military and civilian healthcare professionals – has delivered quality healthcare and enduring expeditionary medical support to the warfighter on, below, and above the sea, and ashore.
