U.S. flags are lined up, folded in preparation for a disinterment at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, June 23, 2025. DPAA disinterred eight caskets as part of the Enoura Maru Project, an on-going effort by DPAA to disinter, transport, and identify missing POWs from World War II. The remains were taken to the Daniel K. Inouye DPAA Center of Excellence laboratory on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, for further scientific analysis and possible identification.
