Soldiers with Company B., 615th Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, get into a firing line upon receiving contact to lay down suppressive fire to opposing forces during the Bladeslinger Challenge at Fort Hood, Texas, April 17. During the event, "Bladeslingers" were evaluated at several stations in round robin format, including performing preventive maintenance checks and services, evaluating a casualty, establishing a Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System, interacting with news media, and reacting to contact, all while employing land navigation to travel between stations.
