Gary Montalvo, director of Maritime Headquarters and Theater Sustainment, U.S. Pacific Fleet, arrives at a change of command ceremony held in Deterrent Park at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, June 18, 2025. During the ceremony Cmdr. Jeremy Nauta relieved Cmdr. Rowdy Garcia as commanding officer of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Maine (SSBN 741) Blue Crew. Maine is assigned to Submarine Group (SUBGRU) 9 which exercises administrative and operational control authority for assigned submarine commands and units in the Pacific Northwest providing oversight for shipboard training, personnel, supply and material readiness of SSBNs and their crews.
