Members of Ola Nu’upia Hui maintain the Nu’upia fishponds alongside Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) personnel in coordination with the Environmental Compliance and Protection Division during a community and environmental stewardship workday at the Nu’upia Ponds Wildlife Management Area, MCBH, June 14, 2025. The event was held to restabilize the ecological and cultural integrity of the fishpond as part of the ongoing efforts to preserve traditional Hawaiian aquaculture systems and enhance environmental resilience and strengthen partnerships between the military and the local community through shared stewardship.
