Johnson, U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion Nashville commander, speaks about the unity of the nation and freedom that started June 14, 1775, as the Continental Congress established an army, at a Flag Day celebration held June 14, 2025, at Fort Negley Park. Johnson gave a brief history on the 250-year-span that includes sacrifices made by legendary volunteers with Gen. Andrew Jackson at the battle of New Orleans.
