U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Jay Mora, 378th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants Flight fuel distribution operator, adjusts the auxiliary throttle on a R-11 Fuel Truck, within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, June 4, 2025. The auxiliary throttle controls the truck engine’s revolutions per minute, adjusting the pressure pushed to the fuel nozzle, in turn increasing fuel output. Fuel distribution operators adjust the RPMs based on factors such as allotted refuel time and available fuel capacity, to safely and efficiently provide combat-ready forces with the fuel needed to respond with overwhelming force when necessary.
