The skyline of Hong Kong central viewed from the elevator of USS Peleliu during a reception held in the hangar bay, April 15. The reception was held to welcome guests and foreign dignitaries to the ship and gave senior leaders the opportunity to expand on personal and professional relationships. The Hong Kong port visit provided the Marines and sailors of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group an opportunity for leisure and cultural exchange. The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit is deployed as part of the Peleliu ARG and is comprised of approximately 2,400 Marines and sailors. Together with Amphibious Squadron Three, they provide a forward-deployed, flexible sea-based Marine Air Ground Task Force capable of conducting a wide variety of operations ranging from humanitarian aid to combat.
