Bartolo “Buddy” Valastro, an American baker and television personality, shares his family’s military history with U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Katherine Bolcar, a vocalist with the 10th Mountain Division Band, U.S. Army Lt. Col. John Rhodes, commander of the U.S. Army New York City Recruiting Battalion, and U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Laczynski, senior enlisted leader of the U.S. Army New York City Recruiting Battalion during a U.S. Army 250th Birthday NYC kickoff event in Jersey City, N.J. on June 9, 2024. Valastro (also known as “The Cake Boss”) provided a tour of his factory, which will make the official U.S. Army 250th Birthday NYC cake. The event is one of the weeklong U.S. Army NYC Recruiting Battalion hosted Army 250th Birthday NYC citywide celebrations.
