A U.S. Marine Corps Light Armored Vehicle assigned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is staged on a landing craft, air cushion during a LCAC off-loading drill aboard amphibious transport dock USS San Diego (LPD 22), in the Timor Sea, June 8, 2025. The Marines and Navy Sailors executed off-loading drills to certify joint operations between weaponized and amphibious units for the USS San Diego (LPD 22) in support of Marine and Navy personnel. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7thFleet area of operations, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
