An original Charleville musket sits as part of the reception hall display at National Museum of the United States Army Revolutionary War Exhibit Preview and Reception at Fort Belvoir, Virginia on June 5, 2025. The French Charleville musket was carried by General George Washington's personal guard, known as "Washington's Lifeguards," during the Revolutionary War, who today are portrayed by the A Co, 4th BN 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment "The Old Guard." The National Museum of the United States Army hosted an exclusive preview showing of the new Revolutionary War Exhibit for senior leaders and special guests prior to the public opening on June 7, 2025.
