Cpl. Raymond F. Parry, an artilleryman assigned to the 148th Field Artillery Regiment, 41st Infantry Division, and his tombstone lie at the Saint-Mihiel American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Mihiel, France, June 2, 2025. Parry, the great-great-uncle of Sgt. John P. Simmons, fought in World War I in the battles of Saint-Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, where he tragically lost his life from pneumonia after complications of phosgene gas exposure.
