U.S. Army Spc. Deyana Hernandez, of the Medical Readiness and Training Command’s Effects and Enablers section, uses her civilian pastry chef skills and attention to detail to apply special effects makeup to Brig. Gen. Todd Traver, deputy commanding general of the 807th Theater Medical Command, on June 6, 2025, at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. The makeup and prosthetic injuries turned Traver into a believably injured soldier for a training scenario during Global Medic, a multi-national military medical training exercise that delivers relevant and realistic collective training to medical units and soldiers preparing for large-scale combat operations.
