Product NMESIS Manager Melvin Miller and Ammo Project Manager Shaun Saurbron had the chance to question NWS Yorktown Electronic Tech Michael Jenkins about the conversion of missiles to Airbirds at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Virginia, May 22, 2025. The scheduled tour offers invaluable exposure to the storage, maintenance, and testing of new ground ammunition weapons systems. Participants from various Product Management Offices will observe missile handling procedures at a maintenance facility, including intermediate-level maintenance and testing, and gain insight into storage and inventory management within a missile magazine.
