Charles Wilhite, off-going deputy commander of (NMCFHPC) a meritorious service award during an award ceremony Jun. 4, 2025, Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia. As DEPCOM, Wilhite led Navy force health protection response efforts including Red Hill water contamination, modernized the Forward Deployed Preventive Medicine Unit, advanced joint planning for the Defense Health Agency, and improved operations across 16 public health product lines.
