SOUTH CHINA SEA (May 21, 2025) Damage Control Fireman Eric Westmoreland from Frankfort, Kentucky, reels out an Aqueous Film-Forming Foam hose outside a main engine room of the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65), while dressed out into firefighting protective gear during a damage control drill, May 22, while operating in the South China Sea. Benfold is forward deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s Largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
