Soldiers from the New Mexico and California National Guard sprinted to the firing line during the Hoplite event of the Marksmanship Advisory Council Region VII Match (MAC VII) at Florence Military Reservation, Ariz., May 22, 2025. The grueling event tested physical endurance and marksmanship, requiring participants to run 800 meters before engaging targets. Soldiers advanced through a series of firing points, continuing to engage targets at decreasing distances until reaching the final 100-meter mark. The competitive nature of MAC VII inspires Soldiers to continuously improve, ensuring that our nation's warriors remain lethal, ready and capable of any mission.
